Privacy Policy
This policy applies to minecraft-servers.co, including our public server listings, voting features, account dashboard, server owner tools, contact forms, and related services. It does not apply to third-party Minecraft servers listed on our site. Those servers are operated independently and may have their own privacy practices.
1. Who we are
minecraft-servers.co is a Minecraft server listing website that helps users discover Minecraft servers, copy server IP addresses, vote for servers, and allows server owners to submit and manage listings.
You can contact us about this Privacy Policy or your personal data by email at [email protected].
2. Information we collect
We collect information in a few different ways depending on how you use the site.
When you browse the site, we may collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, request data, approximate location derived from IP address, and other server log information. We use this information to operate the site, monitor performance, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.
When you create an account or log in, we collect your email address and related account information. Our login system may use magic-link authentication, session data, login timestamps, token hashes, IP-related security data, and browser or user-agent information to authenticate you and protect your account.
When you submit or manage a server listing, we collect the information needed to create and operate that listing. This may include server name, server IP or hostname, port, Bedrock IP or port, Minecraft version, gamemode tags, description, banner uploads, upload metadata, listing status, owner account information, and moderation history. Approved listing information may be displayed publicly on minecraft-servers.co.
When you vote for a server, we collect the Minecraft username you enter, the server you voted for, vote timestamp, and anti-abuse information such as hashed IP address, hashed username, hashed user-agent data, cooldown records, and CAPTCHA or bot-check verification status. If the listed server has Votifier enabled, we may temporarily process your IP address so the vote can be delivered to that server through the Votifier protocol.
When you contact us, we collect the information you include in your message, such as your email address, name if provided, message content, and any related correspondence metadata.
We do not ask for payment card numbers, Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, health information, or other sensitive personal information. Please do not send sensitive personal information to us unless we specifically request it for a necessary support or legal purpose.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, secure, and improve minecraft-servers.co.
This includes operating public server listings, allowing users to copy server IPs, processing votes, enforcing vote cooldowns, detecting fraud or automated abuse, delivering Votifier vote notifications when configured by a server owner, authenticating account owners, reviewing and moderating listings, responding to support requests, troubleshooting bugs, maintaining backups, protecting the site from attacks, and complying with legal obligations.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how the site is used, improve page layouts, improve listing quality, diagnose technical issues, and make product decisions. Aggregated or de-identified information does not identify you personally.
4. Public listing information
Server listings are intended to be public. If you submit a server listing and it is approved, information such as the server name, IP address or hostname, port, banner, description, version, tags, player count, and vote counts may be displayed publicly on minecraft-servers.co.
Do not submit listing content that you do not want displayed publicly. We may remove or edit listings that violate our rules, appear misleading, create security risk, or are otherwise inappropriate for the site.
5. Voting and Votifier data
When you vote for a server, we use your Minecraft username and technical anti-abuse data to record the vote, enforce vote limits, prevent duplicate voting, and protect the integrity of rankings.
Some server owners use Votifier or a similar vote-delivery system to provide in-game rewards. If a server has Votifier enabled, minecraft-servers.co may send the vote data required by the Votifier protocol to that server. This may include your Minecraft username, the voting service name, timestamp, and your IP address as required by the protocol.
We do not give server owners access to your account email address through the voting feature. However, once vote data is delivered to a third-party Minecraft server, that server's owner is responsible for how they process the data they receive.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
minecraft-servers.co uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function. These may include session cookies, authentication cookies, CSRF protection cookies, security cookies, and preference or state cookies.
These technologies help us keep you logged in, protect forms from abuse, remember temporary site state, secure account actions, and operate the website reliably.
We do not currently run third-party display advertising on minecraft-servers.co, and we do not use advertising cookies for display ad targeting.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use minecraft-servers.co and to improve site performance, page layout, and listing quality. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to collect usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device information, referrer information, timestamps, and interaction data. We do not use Google Analytics to run third-party display advertising on minecraft-servers.co.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking all cookies may prevent account login, voting, forms, and other site features from working correctly.
7. Cloudflare Turnstile and anti-abuse checks
We may use Cloudflare Turnstile or similar anti-abuse tools to help determine whether a vote, login, form submission, or other action is being performed by a real user rather than an automated bot.
Cloudflare Turnstile may process technical signals such as IP address, browser data, user-agent information, sitekey, origin, and related client-side signals for bot detection and security. These checks help us prevent spam, fraudulent votes, automated abuse, and attacks against the site.
8. Analytics and server logs
We use server logs, internal analytics, and Google Analytics 4 to understand site performance, diagnose errors, protect against abuse, measure traffic, and improve the user experience.
Google Analytics 4 may collect technical and usage information about visits to minecraft-servers.co, including pages viewed, browser and device information, approximate location, referring pages, timestamps, and interaction data. Google may process this information to provide analytics reports and related measurement services to us.
We use analytics information in aggregate to understand traffic patterns, improve page layouts, evaluate listing quality, diagnose technical issues, and make product decisions. We do not use Google Analytics to sell personal information or to run third-party display ads on minecraft-servers.co.
9. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with service providers that help us operate minecraft-servers.co, including hosting providers, database providers, email delivery providers, security providers, backup providers, analytics providers such as Google Analytics, and other technical vendors. These providers may process information only as needed to provide services to us.
We may share vote data with a listed Minecraft server when that server has Votifier or a similar vote-delivery feature enabled, as described above.
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, legal process, or a valid government request. We may also disclose information when we believe it is necessary to protect our rights, protect users, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, enforce our Terms, or respond to security incidents.
If minecraft-servers.co is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Privacy Policy or a policy with materially similar protections.
10. Third-party Minecraft servers
minecraft-servers.co lists third-party Minecraft servers, but we do not operate those servers unless clearly stated otherwise.
When you copy an IP address, join a server, visit a server's website, interact with a server's Discord, or otherwise communicate with a third-party server, your activity is governed by that server's own rules and privacy practices. Minecraft servers may collect information such as your Minecraft username, IP address, gameplay activity, chat messages, account identifiers, and moderation history.
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, moderation, security, or behavior of third-party Minecraft servers listed on minecraft-servers.co.
11. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
Account information is generally kept while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, backup, dispute resolution, and legal purposes.
Server listing information is kept while the listing remains active or pending, and may be retained afterward as needed for moderation history, fraud prevention, backups, legal compliance, and abuse prevention.
Vote records and cooldown records are retained as needed to maintain vote counts, prevent duplicate or fraudulent voting, audit ranking integrity, and protect the site from abuse. Raw voter IP addresses used for Votifier delivery are intended to be temporary and are cleared after delivery, expiry, or cleanup. Hashed anti-abuse records may be retained longer where needed to enforce voting limits and protect ranking integrity.
Support messages and correspondence may be retained for as long as needed to respond to your request, maintain business records, resolve disputes, and protect the site.
Backups may retain information for a limited period after it is deleted from active systems.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information. These may include HTTPS, access controls, session security, hashed tokens, hashed anti-abuse identifiers, encryption for temporary sensitive fields, rate limits, CAPTCHA or bot checks, and restricted administrative access.
No website or online service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure, because access to your email may allow access to your minecraft-servers.co account through magic-link login.
13. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain uses of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
To make a privacy request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding. For account-related requests, we may ask you to contact us from the email address associated with your account.
We may deny or limit a request where allowed by law, including when we need to keep information for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, freedom of expression, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
14. California privacy notice
This section applies to California residents to the extent California privacy law applies to minecraft-servers.co.
The categories of personal information we may collect include identifiers such as email address, IP address, Minecraft username, account identifiers, and online identifiers; internet or electronic activity information such as pages viewed, timestamps, server logs, vote activity, and browser information; approximate location information derived from IP address; user-generated content such as server listings and messages you send us; and security or anti-abuse information such as hashed identifiers, cooldown records, and Turnstile verification status.
We collect this information from you, from your browser or device, from your use of the site, from server owners who submit listings, and from service providers that help us operate the site.
We use this information for the business and operational purposes described in this policy, including providing the service, maintaining listings, processing votes, preventing abuse, securing the site, communicating with users, debugging, analytics, and legal compliance.
We do not sell personal information. We do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
California residents may have the right to know, access, correct, delete, and receive information about certain personal information practices, as well as the right not to be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights. To exercise these rights, email [email protected].
15. International users
minecraft-servers.co is operated from the United States. If you access the site from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or in other countries where our service providers operate.
Data protection laws in those countries may differ from the laws where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
16. Legal bases for EEA and UK users
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, our legal bases for processing personal data may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent, and compliance with legal obligations.
Our legitimate interests include operating and improving the site, securing the service, preventing fraud and abuse, enforcing vote cooldowns, maintaining ranking integrity, moderating listings, responding to support requests, and protecting our legal rights.
Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
17. Children's privacy
minecraft-servers.co is intended for a general audience and is not designed to collect personal information from children under 13.
Children under 13 should not create an account, submit a server listing, vote, or send personal information to us without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact [email protected] and we will review the request.
Users under 18 should use the site only with permission from a parent or guardian where required by applicable law.
18. Do Not Track and global privacy controls
Some browsers offer Do Not Track or global privacy control signals. Because there is not a single industry-standard way to respond to all such signals for all site features, minecraft-servers.co may not respond to every browser-based signal.
If we ever sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, we will update this policy and provide any opt-out mechanism required by applicable law.
19. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of the page.
If we make material changes, we may provide additional notice, such as by posting a notice on the site or contacting account holders by email where appropriate.
20. Contact us
